Fans didn’t realize Colin Farrel was featured in the new Batman trailer

Hollywood actor Colin Farell was in the new Batman trailer and fans didn’t even notice.

The hype is real for the latest installment of our favorite caped crusader after DC FanDome unveiled the first trailer of the new Batman movie.

We were all surprised to see an early trailer considering director Matt Reeves announced that they were only able to shoot 25% of the film due to the pandemic. But thanks to DC FanDome’s free virtual convention that aired over the weekend—we were blessed with a huge amount of trailers and special previews of upcoming DC projects. One of which, of course, is the highly anticipated Batman film starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne.

It featured a more mature version similar to Nolan’s beloved Dark Knight trilogy while also giving us the batman eye makeup that we have been waiting to see on the big screen.

Here is the first look of the upcoming Batman movie:

The trailer also shows us the different characters that will be introduced in the movie including Catwoman, The Riddler, and Dr. Penguin.

Yes, Colin Farell was featured in the trailer, in case you missed it.

It was announced earlier this year that Farell would play as the Penguin. Many fans were excited by this news even if Farell didn’t look anywhere near the comic book version of Dr. Penguin.

Still, his acting credentials definitely precedes him and we often get different iterations of comic book characters being put on the big screen so it wouldn’t be hard to picture a version of penguin where he doesn’t look like – well, a penguin.

But much to our surprise, the movie actually stuck to its comic book roots and features a completely unrecognizable Colin Farell thanks to makeup artist Michael Marino.

Marino confirmed this on his Instagram account by putting #colinfarrell on the description of his latest post revealing that Farell is the Penguin shown in the trailer.

It’s worthy to note that the Penguin’s look was all done by practical effects, which is pretty amazing especially when CGI rules over most films nowadays.

The Batman is set to release on October 21, 2021.

And so we wait.
