A different kind of Batman—no abs, but with great skin

It seems we all need to prepare for a different kind of Batman next year—one who doesn’t have abs to show, but has great flawless skin instead.

In a recent interview for GQ done entirely remote, Robert Pattinson opened up about his daily routine and what’s keeping him busy during this pandemic. Because filming for the new Batman movie is obviously postponed, he has been staying in London and adjusting surprisingly well during quarantine.

“I spend so much time by myself, ’cause you’re just kind of always forced to, that I can’t really remember what it was like not really having that kind of lifestyle,” Pattinson says in the interview.

He shares that the film studio hired a personal trainer to prepare him for Batman, who gave him a few personal training equipment—but he has basically been ignoring her. “Literally, I’m just barely doing anything,” Pattinson says, very much unlike his Batman co-star Zoë Kravitz who he says has been exercising five days a week.

Having a photographer and a whole team go to Pattinson’s apartment for the GQ interview is out of the question at the moment, so the magazine decided to let Pattinson shoot his self-portraits. The different images show the actor in a somewhat rugged and eccentric persona—which, according to friends and colleagues, is how he is in real life.

In one of the images, Pattinson’s face is reflected in several stacks of toilet paper inside his personal medicine cabinet, which reveals the different kinds of products he uses for skin care.

The actor shared his skin care routine in a separate interview a few months back, which he says includes sheet masks for the face and eyes.

“As I am getting older, I’m definitely noticing things,” he said. “I used to not do anything at all up until a few years ago, and I can definitely see the difference [in my face now], especially if I am travelling a lot.”
