‘Dogs on Zoom!’: You can now adopt an abandoned canine via video chat

Being cooped up at home (alone) for months now is probably the best time to adopt a dog—especially if you’re currently dealing with cabin fever or long-term anxiety. Aside from the fact that they are effortlessly adorable, canines are also gifted with this “special ability” to connect with humans on a very emotional level. (No wonder why they are called a man’s best friend.)

But in this time of crisis, you can’t just leave the house, flout social distancing rules, and put your health at risk just to see your future fur baby in person. Good thing, an organization came up with a creative and convenient way to meet your dog without the need to leave the house.

Since most of us use video-conferencing tools for that occasional dose of human interaction, the Pedigree Foundation (in partnership with the Nashville Humane Association) decided to make the dog adoption process digital.

According to Mashable, those who are willing to foster an abandoned pooch can join their Zoom meetings every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 5 PM (CST). The goal of this initiative is to find responsible homes for displaced animals while maintaining social distancing. This only means that all dogs will be delivered via curbside dropoff.

So, are you ready to open your heart and your home for these adorable pups? You can sign up for one of the Zoom meetings here.
