Players can buy Sleeping Beauty Castle and Space Mountain in this Disney Monopoly game

While Disney parks in the United States remain closed, guests and fans can recreate their visit and build their own Disney empire with a special edition Monopoly game.

Instead of Park Place, Boardwalk and Pennsylvania Avenue, the Disney-inspired board game features properties like the Sleeping Beauty Castle, Space Mountain and the newest addition to the parks, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Players try to outwit their rivals by snapping up the most expensive properties, attractions and castles. The pièce de résistance? A pop-up Fantasyland Castle that springs to life from the middle of the board game.

On Monday, Shanghai Disneyland became the first Disney park to reopen its gates following a three-month closure due to the coronavirus.

The reopening was conducted under strict new health measures that include temperature checks upon arrival, visitors’ presentation of their COVID-19-free health status via a government authorized QR code system, the mandatory wearing of masks and physical distancing rules. Tickets had to be pre-booked and were sold out within minutes.

Meanwhile, thrill seekers can experience thrill rides virtually courtesy of the many point-of-view videos that capture roller coaster rides in their entirety.

Fans may check out the Tron ride at Shanghai Disneyland or the interactive Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to start.

The game retails for $49.99 (P2,500). JB
