When things get stressful, some people choose to play video games to have a little break from reality. That’s why when Nintendo released Animal Crossing: New Horizons (the fifth installation in the Animal Crossing franchise) almost a week ago, fans and video gamers alike believe that this is the kind of escape that we need right now.
Apart from the adorable anthropomorphic animals and relaxed island life, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will also give you a sense of fulfillment and instant gratification every time you accomplish a challenge. But there are other things (or let’s say, tricks) that you can do on the island—one of which is adding custom images to the game. According to Know Your Meme, you can easily convert any design, artwork, or meme into the paper format by using a fan-made tool called ACPatterns.
To do this, open acpatterns.com then click on the “Editor tab.”
Although you can create your own image from scratch, here we’re just converting a photo from our storage. Click “Convert” and choose a file from your device.
Once done, don’t forget to hit the “Generate QR Code” button then save your file in .acnl format.
Know Your Meme added that this QR Code can be used when playing previous Animal Crossing games such as New Leaf and Happy Home Designer. If you want to share your design with other players, you may publish it on acpatterns.com—but be sure to rename it by clicking “Change” found on the left side.
When uploading images, don’t forget to use the NookLink mini-app in the Nintendo Switch Online app that is available on iOS or Android. In NookLink, you can open the “Designs” app and use the camera to scan the QR code.
With these tricks and techniques, players will surely enjoy all the amazing things that they can do while on Animal Crossing. Enjoy gaming, everyone!
