Ms. Monopoly is the board game every empowered woman deserves

For years, Monopoly has been a source of joy (and sometimes, friendly competition) among friends and family. Its highly addicting money-making schemes and chance cards have made kids and kids-at-heart feel like successful real estate millionaires. And ever since it was created in the early 1900s, the game has evolved and taken on many different versions.

One of the more popular variants of the games is their ‘Monopoly for Millennials‘ edition, which allows participants to collect experience points for destinations they’ve visited.

The popular board game brand has also expanded its reach to create thematic board games based on movies and television series. Some examples of these include Monopoly Game of Thrones, Monopoly Avengers, and even, Monopoly Stranger Things.

However, the highly regarded game is making waves online now for its newest version–Ms. Monopoly.

Unlike many of the game’s previous versions, Ms. Monopoly features a female investor on the cover and acts as an avenue to empower the young women of today. Because instead of purchasing real estate, the players will be investing in inventions and businesses created by women.

“Through the introduction of Ms. Monopoly and the money these young women have received to invest in their future projects, we want to recognize and celebrate the many contributions women have made to our society and continue to make on a daily basis,” Hasbro’s Senior Director for Global Brand Strategy and Marketing, Jen Boswinkel shared in the Hasbro website.

On top of this, Ms. Monopoly is reportedly the first game wherein women earn more than men.
