Troye Sivan exhibits infectious, queer energy during ‘Bloom’ concert in Manila

Without a doubt, Troye Sivan is considered to be one of the fastest-rising names in the international music industry. And if there was one word to describe his Manila concert billed as “The Bloom Tour”, then it would be flamboyant—in a way that this 23-year-old gay icon only exhibited his vibrant personality and infectious, queer energy.

In front of his rainbow flag-bearing fans, Sivan performed a few songs from his albums “Bloom” and “Blue Neighbourhood.” He opened the show by performing “Seventeen”, which is an ode to his dating experiences as a gay teen.

His exhilarating performance of “Seventeen” was then followed by “Bloom”, “Heaven”, “Lucky Strike”, “WILD”, and “POSTCARD” among others to which fans couldn’t help but sing along.

Before sadness completely enveloped the arena, the South African-born Australian artist shared that “The Good Side,” is actually an anthem about the other side of love. Sivan explained that it’s a letter about his first breakup—acknowledging an ex and apologizing for how the things ended up for them.

Towards the end of the concert, Sivan asked his fans to get out of their seats and jump around as he sang  “1999” and “YOUTH.”

The concert happened last May 1, 2019, and was presented by MMI Live.
