Our favorite furry friend Hello Kitty branches into skincare

Hello Kitty has launched a skincare line, in collaboration with beauty brand The Creme Shop.

The Sanrio-owned Japanese cartoon character has teamed up with the Los Angeles-based skincare label on an eight-piece beauty series, as first reported by Bustle. The collection is the result of a long-term partnership that will allegedly see further collaborations released in the future.

Dubbed “The Creme Shop X Sanrio,” the collection spans everything from sheet masks and lip balms to hand cream and bath bombs, with false eyelashes and a spa headband thrown in for good measure. Featuring colorful Hello Kitty motifs and packaging, every piece in the affordable collection clocks in at $10 or less.

“Babes our labor of love is finally out on our website – this collaboration has been so much fun [and] we hope you enjoy all the products we created,” The Creme Shop told its 57,000 followers on Instagram recently. According to Bustle, the series is also set to go on sale at Hot Topic and Riley Rose later this month, before hitting the shelves at CVS in January.

“We’ve always adored Sanrio’s whimsical aesthetic and feel that this collaboration will only enhance the enjoyment our customers receive from our products,” Olive Kim, executive director of The Crème Shop, said in the report.

The collection is the latest of multiple big-name fashion collaborations for Hello Kitty — the brand launched a pair of wines earlier this summer, as well as teaming up with surf and lifestyle brand O’Neill on a children’s fashion collection back in the spring.

February also saw the franchise release a seven-piece womenswear collection of ready-to-wear pieces and accessories with sportswear giant Puma, following on from a 40-piece capsule launched with fast fashion giant Asos back in October 2017.
