Pope Francis opens up about pneumonia struggle: ‘I might not make it this time’

The Vatican prepares for the possibility of Pope Francis’ funeral as he hints that he ‘might not make it this time’ with his current battle with Pneumonia.

The Pope has spoken up about his battle with his illness and believes that his days have been numbered already. Within him, he feels that as days go by he will need to prepare and has advised the entire Vatican to rehearse his funeral when the time comes. 

According to reports, Pope Francis has been in the hospital since February 14, 2025. Constant pain in his chest causes a harder time for him to breathe. It was then examined and known to be Pneumonia that was seen to have infected both of his lungs. The Vatican has been consistent with updates and new information that the Pope’s condition remains in a critical condition. 

Social media users around the world are brought by surprise to the illness of the Holy Father and extend their prayers and thoughts.
