Ex-PBB housemate Jarren Garcia criticized for delivering news on Gloria Romero’s burial

The whole entertainment industry still mourns the passing of iconic actress Gloria Romero who passed away last January 25, 2025. Fans and showbiz icons continue to pay their respects and express their grief by remembering their personal moments with Romero or honoring her work.

However, with one news story after another, one particular coverage caught the attention of many viewers and social media users alike.

On January 28, 2025, ex-PBB housemate Jarren Garcia delivered the news of Romero’s burial on TV Patrol Express Live, prompting backlash from social media users who deemed it ‘disrespectful’ and felt it was ‘not his place’ to present such serious news.

A recent X post by a social media user expressed concern over Garcia’s delivery of details about the final moments of the burial. “The disrespect to Miss Gloria Romero,” the user wrote.

Despite the practice or rehearsal that may have been given beforehand, some pointed out that it may not have been ‘his time’ to be on screen, particularly since he is not fully fluent in Tagalog.tweet about Jarren

While many agreed with the criticism, some argued that it wasn’t Jarren’s fault for delivering the news, as he may have been given the information and put on the spot at that moment.

Some users expressed understanding, suggesting that instead of having a newly debuted actor deliver the sad news, a more experienced industry professional could have been given the task. Many also seek more professionalism and awareness in this industry rather than handing out ‘new’ showbiz actors/actresses stepping foot on air.

As of this writing, no statement has been released from Garcia’s side or the news program.
