Celebrities who lost their homes in the Los Angeles wildfires

Numerous buildings, including thousands of homes and businesses, have been burned as fires continue to spread around Los Angeles. Celebrities have been raising awareness of the loss of their houses and pushing the public to contribute to relief efforts for the disaster.

The disaster caused many entertainment events and filmings to be postponed due to the said wildfire around Los Angeles.

Here are several celebrities who have lost their homes to this horrifying disaster.

Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill shared to his Instagram followers a “personal fire update” that he had been evacuated from Malibu along with his dog and his wife. In addition to urging everyone to “stay safe,” the actor stated he had reached his daughter’s home in Hollywood safely. He went on to say that the fires were the “most horrific fires since ‘93,” and that his family had been “fleeing for our lives.”

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton shared a video of TV footage of the burned-out remnants of her Malibu beachside house on Instagram, recalling some of the good times she and her family spent there.

Cary Elwes

Cary Elwes shared a horrifying video of the “biblical” destruction he saw while evacuating his Malibu home.

Although he and his family did lose their home, he posted an update on Wednesday stating, “we are grateful to have survived this truly devastating fire” and thanking the first responders and well-wishers.

Mandy Moore

Having to flee along with her family (and dogs), Mandy Moore is relying on her loved ones. She expressed that she is “grateful for the kindness of friends” and that they had a place to stay. “Praying for everyone in our beautiful city. So gutted for the destruction and loss. Don’t know if our place made it,” she wrote.

On January 8, she posted another update, stating that she was “absolutely numb” to witness the destruction in Altadena, her hometown.

Billy Crystal

After forty-six years, Billy Crystal and his spouse lost their Pacific Palisades house. “Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy,” he said in a statement.

Diane Warren

Diane Warren disclosed that she lost her house of thirty years. “This is the last pic I took of Leah’s rock from my beach house,” she wrote, referring to her friend Leah, who passed away ten years ago. “I’ve had this house for almost 30 years. It looks like it was lost in the fire last nite.”

Warren, however, is choosing to be optimistic after informing her followers that the animals at her rescue ranch were safe.

Milo Ventimiglia

The Malibu fire destroyed Milo Ventimiglia’s home. He said he learned about the fire from security footage in an interview with CBS News.

Anthony Hopkins, Eugene Levy, John Goodman, Ricki Lake, Jeff Bridges, Jhene Aiko, and Anna Faris are among other celebrities who have also lost their homes because of the said disaster.
