David Licauco responds to ‘three-month rule’ advice and viral meme following ‘JakBie’ split

Following the “JakBie” breakup, actor David Licauco, Barbie Forteza’s love team partner, becomes the target of memes, pieces of advice, and comments.

With the caption, “Chill lang,” along with emojis of an angelic face and a sweaty smiling face, the actor shared a picture of himself standing in what looked to be a cottage.

Licauco posted the photo on January 3, a day after Forteza announced her split from longtime boyfriend Jak Roberto.

One comment from his post somehow got his attention with a social media user reminding him of the said rule.

Basta David ha, sinasabi ko sayo tandaan mo yong 3 month rule bago mo ligawan [David, remember the three month rule before courting her],” a Facebook user wrote.

The actor then replied to the Facebook user with a smiling with sweat emoji.

David's response

Licauco’s post quickly went viral with some of the social media users sharing jokes about the photo.

One user wrote, “Okay lang yan chill kalang basta tandaan wag mahal ang tawagan at yung 3 months rule bago umariba [That’s okay, just chill as long as you remeber not to use ‘mahal’ as a term of endearment and the 3 months rule before you go through].”

Another user wrote, “’chill lang wala akong kinalaman dyan’ ganyan dapat HAHAHA [’just chill I have nothing to do with that’ that’s how it should be HAHAHA].”

“Dyan ka lang po please wag munang gagalaw chill chill lang [Just stay there please don’t move yet just chill chill],” a third user wrote.

For context, the “three-month rule” refers to the dating belief that a person cannot enter a new relationship within three months of their last breakup.

Moreover, TikTok videos poking fun at Licauco also circulated. One video stated that he’s the happiest this New Year, to which he responded with a laugh.

Although Licauco has been very private about his personal life, a picture of him with Sparkle GMA Vice President Joy Marcelo and actor Nikki Co, captioned “Mga single ngayong pasko,” went viral on social media, sparking rumors that he was “single.”

Licauco and Forteza, meanwhile, became well-known as a love team after starring together in the popular GMA TV show “Maria Clara at Ibarra.”

The pair also worked together on other projects such as “Pulang Araw,” “That Kind of Love,” and “Maging Sino Ka Man” remake.
