A discourse about self-respect and accountability in relationships was spurred by a TikTok video that went viral.
The TikTok user mentioned that one of her biggest flexes is that she “never had to go through a ‘ho3 phase’” no matter how long or boring her single life has been.
She also stated that she doesn’t want her future partner “to be worried and ashamed” about her reputation and further writing, “I knew I’ll be someone’s wife, daughter in law, and ofc somebody’s future mom.”
While the post aims to empower women to have respect for themselves, several users in the comments don’t seem to agree with her.
One user wrote, “It’s sad that you think your worth is tied to how others perceive your ‘reputation.’ Respect yourself enough not to put other women down to feel superior—it’s not a good look.”
Another user wrote, “Nothing wrong with your perspective and values, they are reputable and admirable but when you put other women down that’s where things go wrong. You can be like that w/o having to judge others..”
A third user wrote, “We’re in the 21st century, and women are still shaming other women for being liberated, for having a “hoe phase,” or for being sexually active without commitment—all for a man? Seriously?”
“yassss hilahin natin pababa ang iba para umangat ang sarili [yassss pulling others down to pull yourself up] !! love that mentality !! crab mentality for 2025 slayyy gurlll,” a fourth user wrote.
Although some may have disagreed with her statement, some social media users got what she was trying to say and defended her standpoint.
The discussion highlights the diversity of perspectives on self-respect and relationships. As of this moment, the user hasn’t deleted nor released a statement regarding the issue.
