Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are taking the promotion of their film up a notch as they appear in the latest music video of Stray Kids’ new single, “Chk Chk Boom.”
In the video, both the actors are pretending to be a weatherman and a news anchor on a made-up network.
Toward the end of the video, Reynolds was dressed up in a Deadpool costume interacting with the members, somewhat trying to shoot his shot of being part of the band.
There were plans for Stray Kids to appear in the upcoming film but they were not able to due to scheduling conflicts. Though the initial plan did not materialize, they somehow found a way to be involved with the project as their song “Slash” is part of the soundtrack for “Deadpool & Wolverine.”
The K-pop band has a history with Reynolds and with Deadpool. Back in 2021, Stray Kids participated in the Korean music reality show “Kingdom: Legendary War”, in which they performed a mashup of their hit song “God’s Menu” and “DDU-DU DDU-DU” by BLACKPINK in honor of Deadpool. This caught the attention of Reynolds and initiated a conversation with the band on social media.
While promoting their film in South Korea, Reynolds and Jackman connected with the band. In an Instagram post, Reynolds posted a video of him hanging out with two of the band’s members, Felix and Bang Chan. “As they say in Seoul: Chk Chk Boom,” he wrote in his caption.
Aside from “Slash,” the soundtrack for Deadpool & Wolverine also features from well known artists including Jackman’s “The Greatest Show” from The Greatest Showman, “Iris” by The Goo Goo Dolls, and “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC to name a few.
Stray Kids recently made their comeback with their new album “ATE”, featuring their single “Chk Chk Boom.”
