Girl in a jacket

Opinions fly as Abegail Rait shares cryptic quote amid backlash over daughter’s ‘club’ video

Abegail Rait shared a cryptic quote following the backlash she received from a viral video of her daughter allegedly dancing in a club.

In her Facebook post, she shared a quote that reads, “We are like books. Most people only see our cover, the minority read only the introduction, many people believe the critics. Few will know our content. – Èmile Zola.”

This seems to be a jab at their critics, with the underlying message to stop with the judgment without knowing who they are. This comes after a video of her daughter started circulating online, which caught many people’s attention.

Her daughter, Gail Franchesca, posted on her Facebook account of her dancing inside what seems to be a bar.

Upon seeing the video, Filipino social media users took to the comments section to express their concern about the situation.

One user wrote, “Galing mo sana kaso nsa wrong place ka bebe girl [You’re good but you’re in a wrong place, baby girl].”

[You’re a minor, how is it right that you’re in a bar? Even though you’re promoting something, it’s still wrong. I know you understand so I hope that you make your mother understand. Real talk, it looks indecent. You happen to be my idol].”

One more concerned user wrote, “Dapat nanay mo nalang pinasayaw mo jan. Tigil tigilan nyo pag gamit sa magalona na surname kung katarantadohan lang din nmn ipapagawa sayo ng nanay mo. Tong nanay naman d nag iisip kahit anong promotion payan dapat iniisip muna. Prang binugaw mo pa anak mo. Sorry not sorry. [Your mother should have been the one dancing there. Stop using the Magalona surname if nonsense is what your mom’s making you do. This mother is not thinking out clearly any promotion you’re doing now. You should think first. It’s like you pimped your child. Sorry not sorry].”

More and more comments came through, criticizing Rait.

Gail Franchesca is the alleged love child of Abegail Rait with rapper Francis Magalona. They became known for their appearance in the YouTube show Pinoy Pawnstars where Rait claimed that she remained silent for fifteen years in terms of her relationship with the late rapper.
