On May 9th, 2024, De La Salle University-Dasmariñas hosted “Crossroads: Ready, Set, Go!”, an event by 3rd-year Tourism Management students from batch 2025. Running from 9 AM to 10 PM, this event highlighted the talents and ambitions of future tourism professionals from Metro Manila and CALABARZON.
Morning Highlights: Skills Competition and Symposium
The day began with the Philippine National Anthem by the DLSU-D Chorale. The tourism skills competition at the GMO Rooms showcased students’ practical expertise. Simultaneously, a symposium featured inspiring talks from industry leaders. Mr. Paul Notorio’s opening remarks set a motivational tone, followed by Mr. Aaron Dale Black, CEO of Zip Travel Philippines, who spoke on “Why Mindset Matters and International Internship Opportunities for Tourism and Hospitality Students and Graduates.”
Afternoon Segment: InsighGul Talks and Quiz Bee for Tourism Skills
In the afernoon, the focus was on “Mindset,” with notable speakers like Ms. Marites Castro, Regional Director of the Department of Tourism-CALABARZON, who discussed “Tourism and Hospitality: An Industry Pillar of the Philippines.” Ms. Kathrina Marigold Jusa, Managing Director of Gustoavventura Philippines, explored “ForecasOng the Future: Emerging Trends in MICE.” Additionally, a quiz bee tested students’ knowledge of the tourism industry, adding a competitive and engaging element to the program.
Evening Gala: Mr. and Ms. Tourism Student Philippines 2024
The evening featured the Mr. and Ms. Tourism Student Philippines 2024 pageant. Winners included:

Special Performances and Closing Remarks
Artists Janine Teñoso and Sam Concepcion entertained the audience. The event concluded with Mr. Jvan Jusfer Manansala’s remarks, celebrating the hard work and enthusiasm of everyone involved. “Crossroads: Ready, Set, Go!” successfully celebrated the future of the tourism industry, emphasizing the importance of mindset, knowledge, and skills.
