K-Drama fans react to Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol’s breakup

It’s official: Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol have broken up after 2 weeks of openly dating.

Ryu Jun-yeol’s agency C-JeS Studio had confirmed the news commenting, “It is true that Ryu Jun-yeol and Han So-hee broke up.” In turn, a rep from Han So-hee’s agency 9ato Entertainment also commented on the break-up news, stating that “the two both found their roles as actors to be more important.”

9ato Entertainment’s representative continued, “Han So-hee gave herself and the public a difficult time due to her personal emotions. Her method of communication was incorrect. She will accept any criticism. Above all, the agency is greatly responsible for not looking after its actor. The agency is reflecting on failing to properly play its role. Although it is very late, we will go on to right things from now on. Please continue to watch with a warm gaze.”

On March 29, 2024, Han So-hee posted (and then deleted) a lengthy Instagram post explaining her (now-past) relationship with Ryu Jun-yeol and responded to Hyeri’s post.

Han So-hee maintained the fact that she had only met Ryu Jun-yeol for the first-time last November 2023 at his photo exhibition. She also insisted that their relationship was not a “transfer love.” In this context, “transfer love” is a phrase meaning “moving on to another relationship before ending the last one.”

Han So-hee also mentioned in the post that she did apologize to Hyeri, she didn’t understand why Hyeri said what she did and to “refute untrue claims by talking to the press.” “What I don’t understand is what’s so “fun” about an ex-boyfriend getting a new girlfriend,” said Han So-hee.

After 10 minutes, Han So-hee took down the post and said, “I’m sorry. I have a quick temper.”

On the afternoon of March 30, 2024, Han So-hee posted a paparazzi photo of Nicole Kidman that was taken in 2001 on her Naver blog, which has been quiet since the news of her dating Ryu Jun-yeol emerged.

K-Drama fans who have been following the story (willingly and unwillingly) have a variety of reactions towards Han So-hee and Ryu Jun-yeol’s ‘whirlwind romance’.
