K-pop virtual group PLAVE’s Yejun takes temporary hiatus due to health reasons

The agency of PLAVE, VLAST, revealed on Thursday that Yejun, one of its members, would be scaling back on his activities for health reasons.

According to the statement released by VLAST, Yejun had been diagnosed with early-stage vocal cord nodules, prompting the agency to prioritize his recovery above all else. The agency had expressed that despite their efforts to provide him with proper care, Yejun’s condition had worsened, leading to the diagnosis.

In a message to fans, VLAST conveyed Yejun’s determination to focus on his health and well-being, “Above all, rest is the top priority for Yejun’s recovery.” As a result, the agency had planned to reduce Yejun’s participation in PLAVE’s live broadcasts and other scheduled activities for the foreseeable future.

The announcement had come just days before the virtual five-member K-Pop group’s scheduled participation in the highly anticipated 2024 Universal Superstar Awards, slated to take place at Kyung Hee University’s Peace Hall in Seoul on March 27. However, with Yejun’s health taking precedence, it had remained uncertain whether he would be able to join his fellow members at the prestigious event.

The statement concluded with a plea for understanding from PLLIs, PLAVE’s dedicated fanbase, regarding the adjustment to Yejun’s schedule. “As the health and happiness of PLAVE members are the top priority for ‘Forever-PLAVE,’ VLAST will strive to do our best for the artist’s health,” VLAST said.

The announcement elicited an outpouring of support and well-wishes from fans, who had sent their love and encouragement to Yejun during this challenging time.

Yejun is the leader of PLAVE, a K-pop virtual group that debuted on March 12, 2023, utilizing motion capture technology to deliver authentic expressions and movements.
