Broadcaster and radio show host Ted Failon is being called out for his comment about SB19 member Justin on his radio show.
On an episode of “Ted Failon at DJ Chacha sa Radyo 5” that aired last March 4, Failon and his co-host DJ Chacha were talking about the milestone of Justin performing his new single “Surreal” on the variety show “ASAP Natin ‘To.”
He asked, “Pilipino ba ‘yan? [Is he Filipino?]” to which DJ Chacha confirmed that it was indeed Filipino and proceeded to praise Justin’s appearance saying, “Oo Pilipino ‘yan. Ang pogi ‘diba? [Yes, he’s Filipino. He’s handsome, right]?”
DJ Chacha also confirmed that the song that Justin sang was indeed original when the journalist asked if it was an original composition.
What added the fuel to the fire was the sudden remark he made, saying, “Sana magkaroon tayo ng grupo na ano noh na hindi kataasan ang tangos ng ilong para talagang original [I hope we can have a group that doesn’t really have a much of a pointed nose].”
The radio host seems to have his suspicions that Justin had undergone a nose job.
This comment did not sit well with Filipinos on social media, prompting backlash from SB19 fans and putting the incident as a trending topic on social media platforms.
Fans took to social media to express their disappointment with what he mentioned, emphasizing on his insensitive remarks about the physical features of a person.
