BTS’ V reveals the K-pop girl group that inspired his first solo album, ‘Layover’

South Korean K-pop group BTS’ member V (born Kim Taehyung) revealed the inspiration for his upcoming solo EP ‘Layover.’

In an interview with W Korea, V shared that K-pop girl group f(x)’s album ‘Pink Tape’’ is a “big inspiration” for his album, and also the reason for him to reach out to ADOR’s Min Heejin – the creative director at SM Entertainment during the album’s release in 2013.

“I wanted to show a different side of my music compared to my past works and collaborating seemed like the best way to achieve that,” he said. “Our collaborative discussions were productive, encompassing every detail, and the entire collaboration process was seamless.”

V shared that this album will be a mix of his strengths and his passion, “My love for diverse genres often has me humming away. While creating this solo album, I truly discovered my vocal essence, and that’s what makes it incredibly fulfilling,” he said.

He is set to release his solo debut EP ‘Layover’ on September 9, featuring his songs “Rainy Days” and “Love Me Again” – making him the latest member of BTS to release a solo album.
