NCT ushers in their ‘Golden Age’ for their 4th full-group comeback

If you were confused at the first listen, you’re not alone. But, it was a fire track.

On August 23, 2023, SM Entertainment and NCT 2023 pre-released the group’s newest single and title track, “Golden Age”, days before the group is set to make their 4th full-group comeback. NCT’s 4th full-length album of the same name, is to be released on August 28, 2023, along with the second title track, “Baggy Jeans”.

“Golden Age” is a track featuring all of the current members of NCT and is a reinterpretation of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 8, “Pathétique”, 2nd movement. The lyrics of the song convey the NCT members’ embracing their “dazzling golden age” and their hopes of sharing a bright future together.

The music video sees all the members in different places, opening up with Doyoung playing the piano, then immediately switching up to Mark opening the song with his rap verse.

NCTzens, despite their hesitation for the comeback for a number of reasons, were very much pleased with the song, and showed their support for the NCT members. They were also happy to hear that each member was given a verse in the song, which was a rare occurrence in NCT’s full group discography.

Truly, NCT can only keep outdoing themselves. Let’s all keep supporting NCT! (Even with the really sh**** managing from their company.)
