BTS’ Jung Kook faces plagiarism accusations over similar scaling sequence in ‘Seven’

After ‘night after night’ of being a bop on the weekly charts and social media platforms, ‘Seven’ is about to face a ‘copyright infringement’ case.

Composers behind Jung Kook and Latto’s ‘seven’ are now facing allegations of plagiarism, as per an exclusive media report.

In a case filed on August 22, the allegations were thrown against Andrew Watt, Jon Bellion, Henry Walter, Theron Makiel Thomas, and Latto for borrowing the same ‘scale sequence’ of Fin K.L. ‘Time of Mask,’ a B-side track of the group’s 2000 ‘S.P.E.C.I.A.L.’ album.

‘Time of Mask’ composer Yong Joon Young then reportedly forwarded a request from HYBE Labels of Seven’s scale sequence. The label then replied that the former’s request could not be accommodated as its producer, Bang Si Hyuk, was on a business trip in the U.S.

As of this writing, Hybe hasn’t released an official comment or response regarding this matter.
