‘A walking miracle’: Shooting survivor says her wig stopped stray bullet from hitting her head

A mother of two, who got struck twice in the head by stray bullets from a shooting incident, revealed that she believes her wig is one of the reasons she is still alive.

In an interview with FOX 5 Atlanta, the woman, who did not disclose her name, said “it was a day she will never forget.” It happened in her apartment complex in Snapfinger Woods Drive as she was returning home from work on June 10. She told that she got a “really bad feeling” when her Lyft driver pulled up to the front gate and spotted two men in cars in a verbal altercation.

“The next thing you know, we hear gunshots,” she recalled. “Three bullets hit his car, two hit me. The wig I had on stopped one, and one landed in my head. I have a bullet in my head right now.” The vehicle suffered from a shattered rear window.

She showed recognition to her Lyft driver and praised him, saying that he came to her aid despite the danger of the occurring crossfire. “One could’ve hit him, but he held my hand and tried to keep me conscious until the ambulance got there,” she said.

Although the bullet that lodged in her head had not been successfully removed, she affirmed that it did not hit her brain. She believed that it was God’s intervention that spared her life, expressing her gratitude to Him. “Anybody out there who doesn’t believe in God, I just want you to know God is real,” she said.

To date, FOX 5 claimed that no arrests yet have been made in connection with the shooting incident. The DeKalb County police are in their best efforts to investigate the case further.
