NewJeans wants to know your ‘ETA’ for their latest comeback MV

A year after the surprise release of their debut single “Attention,” NewJeans is back to rule the summer with their 2nd mini album, “Get Up.”

The album, consisting of 6 tracks, was released by ADOR on July 21, 2023, at 1 P.M. KST. Three tracks were promoted as singles from the album: ‘Super Shy’ which was first released on July 7, 2023, along with the B-side track ‘New Jeans’. The other two singles, titled ‘Cool with You’ and ‘ETA’ were released at the same time as the EP.

Other tracks from the EP are titled ‘ASAP’ and ‘Get Up,’ with the former already being viral on TikTok and the latter released as part of the Side B music video for ‘Cool with You’.

‘Super Shy’ is a bubblegum Jersey club track with lyrics co-written by NewJeans member Danielle, that describe the awkwardness of falling in love and confessing for the first time. The music video sees NewJeans starting off flash mobs in Lisbon, Portugal donned in youthful outfits and blonde hair.

The B-side track ‘New Jeans’ was made in collaboration with the American animated TV series ‘The Powerpuff Girls’ in celebration of the series’ 25 years and gave each of the NewJeans members their very own PPG character.

The music videos for the second title track ‘Cool with You’ were released on July 20, 2023, at 12 M.N. KST. Prior to its release, ADOR had teased that there would be surprised guest appearances in NewJeans’ music videos, and they were right to say that as Bunnies and non-fans were pleasantly surprised to see Squid Game’s Jung Ho-yeon and Tony Leung appearing for the music videos of ‘Cool with You’.

The last title track, ‘ETA’ is a fusion of the Baltimore club genre and favela funk, with lyrics (also co-written by Danielle) sounding like a relatable conversation between friends. The music video was made in partnership with global brand Apple and was shot entirely with an iPhone 14 Pro.

Bunnies were unmistakably happy with all of NewJeans’ releases for their new era and had nothing else to say but praises and cheers for the girls and their talent. Even other media outlets applauded NewJeans’ newest EP.
