GOT7’s Jay B has been under the scrutiny of online netizens after an online post titled, “The Male Idol Who Sends DMs To Non-Celebrities” had gone viral on July 18, 2023.
Private messages allegedly sent by GOT7’s Jay B to a fashion model and influencer with 70k followers on Instagram were exposed to an online forum in South Korea.
The screenshots of the photos, with the first one having the caption, “This is what I said to a celebrity because I had no idea how to respond,” sees the idol starting a conversation after replying to the influencer’s Instagram story.
Translation:
Jay B: (sends photo) Pick.
Influencer: Woah, it’s ₩10,000 KRW for one. LOL.
Jay B then continues the conversation, saying that he’s been looking through the influencer’s Instagram stories.
(Translation):
Influencer: What do you mean?
Jay B: I mean, did you see the reply to the story just now?
Influencer: Oh, you mean the response you gave to my first story? I saw it late.
Jay B: I’m glad you saw it even if it’s a little late. What are you doing today?
Influencer: I don’t have anything today so I think I’ll be stuck at home haha
Jay B: You seem to go to the club often. No? LOL.
Influencer: OMG. Do I look like someone who goes often?
Jay B: Your story seems to think so!!!
Influencer: LOL. I see you’ve seen my story. I think I went a couple of times recently.
The last screenshot of their conversation saw that Jay B mentioned that he hasn’t been busy because of his duties as a public servant. Note that Jay B had enlisted as a public service worker for his mandatory military service since February 2023.
Influencer: I enjoyed ‘Dream High 2’ hahaha (Dream High 2 was a drama that Jay B starred in in 2011.)
Jay B: LOL wow that drama brings back memories…How old were you then?
Influencer: I was probably in my first year of middle school!
Jay B: What do you do in your free time?
Influencer: I work, and meet friends haha. Did you come across my Insta by chance?
Jay B: Yes yes, hahaha. I just saw it by chance.
Influencer: Haha aren’t you busy these days?
Jay B: I’m doing public service…so I have no reason to be busy at all lol. Are you busy?
