‘From Ken to Ken’: Ryan Gosling gives BTS’ Jimin Ken’s guitar from ‘Barbie’ movie after stealing his fit

Actor Ryan Gosling, who played the role of Ken in the much-anticipated ‘Barbie’ movie, gifts K-pop group BTS member Jimin the guitar used by Ken in the movie.

According to the actor, he had broken an unspoken Ken rule to never copy the same style as the other Ken, and in return, he had to give him his most prized possession.

“I noticed that your ‘Permission to Dance’ outfit is the same as my Ken outfit in the upcoming movie ‘Barbie’. I have to give it to you, you wore it first, you definitely wore it best,” said Gosling in a video posted on the official ‘Barbie’ movie Twitter account.

“There’s an unspoken Ken code that if you bite another Ken’s style, you have to give them your most prized possession. I hope you’ll accept Ken’s guitar as my humble offering,” he added. “And besides, Ken doesn’t really play anyway, so, it’ll be much better in your hands.”

The outfit Gosling is referencing is the black Western-style outfit with white flower embroidery and white tassels that Jimin wore in the music video for their 2021 hit song “Permission to Dance.”

Gosling’s Ken wore the same outfit paired with a white cowboy hat and pink bandana to match Margot Robbie’s Barbie who is wearing a Western-style all-pink ensemble also paired with a white cowboy hat and pink bandana during a scene in the movie.

Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ movie starring Robbie, Gosling, America Ferrera, Emma Mackey, Michael Cera, Kate McKinnon, and many more, started its cinema run in the country last July 19.
