Is Jennie set to join a Marvel project? Apparently not.
YG Entertainment, the agency of the popular K-pop group BLACKPINK, denied the rumors that Jennie got an offer to be part of a Marvel project.
“It’s not true that Jennie has been offered to appear in a Marvel movie,” an official from the singer’s agency told OSEN last June 12.
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is known worldwide for the great superhero films that it has throughout the years.
There’s a report circulating that the K-pop idol received an offer to be part of an Asian superhero team of Marvel called “Team Agents of Atlas.”
It was said that Jennie will be playing the role of Luna Snow, also known as Seol Hee, a character who is said to have the ability to control ice. This superhero is part of the 2020 popular video game called “Marvel Super War.”
YG recently gave their response and debunked the reports that the K-pop idol received an offer for the project. “It is not true that Jennie received an offer to star in a Marvel project,” the agency stated.
At present, the K-pop idol is taking part in the popular series “The Idol” of HBO where she plays the role of Dyanne. The series was released recently and marked the acting debut of the BLACKPINK member. She also recently left BLACKPINK’s concert in Melbourne, Australia due to her health. Based on a report, while their group was performing their 2020 popular song “Love Sick Girls,” Jennie stopped and left the stage.
YG Entertainment stated that the incident happened because of the K-pop idol’s deteriorating condition. In a statement, the company wrote: “We regret to inform you that during the BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] IN MELBOURNE performance on June 11 (today), member JENNIE was unable to complete the stage due to her deteriorating condition.”
