EXO-Ls band together to show their support for EXO-CBX amid group’s legal dispute with SM Entertainment

This goes to show what can be achieved when a strong fan base bands together for the greater good.

The international fan bases of the South Korean boy group EXO have all joined forces to clamor for justice on behalf of EXO-CBX. The 3 members of EXO—Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin, have been embroiled in a legal battle with their former agency, SM Entertainment since June 1, 2023, on the grounds of mistreatment and unfair contract terms.

EXO-Ls have been nothing but supportive of the members’ legal battle, as it had also meant that the other members of the boy group were also aware of what was happening behind the scenes, trending hashtags, calling out SM Entertainment for their mistreatment of EXO members, and more.

The South Korean fanbase of EXO has been consistently sending protest trucks in front of the SM Entertainment building since the beginning. Now, the international fanbases have joined in with protest trucks and a joint statement.

Their joint statement, translated in several languages (Korean, English, Thai, Russian, Vietnamese, Bengali, and Turkish) was posted with the hashtags, #JusticeForCBX and #UnitedForCBX. The statement also particularly highlighted the reasons for EXO-CBX’s move to terminate their contracts with the entertainment industry, which reads,

“…on the basis of several injustices including but not limited to: Inability to provide a copy of the settlement data; Exploitative slave contract conditions; and Coercion under duress.”

EXO-Ls also strongly urge SM Entertainment to provide the settlement data requested by CBX, stop releasing misleading statements to the media, and to exercise corporate social and ethical responsibility as a known entertainment company on the global scale.

EXO-Ls also ended their statement by echoing EXO’s motto and greeting, “WE ARE ONE!.”
