aespa made history by being the first K-pop group to attend the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
The famous girl group recently made their international film debut at the screening of the film “The Pot-Au-Feu.”
The four members of the group are global ambassadors of Chopard, a well-known Swiss brand of luxury watches, accessories, and jewelry.
aespa consists of Giselle, Karina, NingNing, and Winter. They made their debut in November 2020 and have since made their own mark in the K-pop scene. They are also known for their songs “Next Level,” “Savage,” “Black Mamba,” “Hold On Tight,” and many more.
On May 8, the group also released their comeback album My World, along with the music video for their song “Spicy.” Other songs in the album are “Welcome To My World,” “Salty & Sweet,” “Thirsty,” “I’m Unhappy,” and “‘Til We Meet Again.”
The girl group also performed in Manila last April 11 with The Boyz and Taeyeon.
Prior to aespa, there were members from another female K-pop group who also attended the film festival recently, such as BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Jennie.
Fans of aespa could not hide their joy following the K-pop group’s attendance at the 76th Cannes Film Festival. Many fans are proud and happy for their idols because of the new milestone they unlocked.
“aespa at Cannes. So proud of how far they’ve come,” a fan wrote on a tweet.
