aespa exudes a fresh new vibe as they turn it up in their latest MV

aespa slayed. That’s all you need to know.

On May 8, 2023 at 6 P.M. KST, SM Entertainment finally released aespa’s highly anticipated EP, “MY WORLD,” along with the music video for its title track, “Spicy.” This is the 4-member girl group’s third EP, released almost a year after their 2nd EP, “Girls” which dropped in July 2022.

“MY WORLD” consists of 6 tracks, with 1 track serving as the album’s lead single and another as its pre-release single. Each of the songs in aespa’s 3rd EP had videos accompanying them, which were dropped prior to their comeback date—the track video for “I’m Unhappy” was released on May 3, 2023, followed by “Salty & Sweet” on May 4, 2023, and then “Thirsty” on May 5, 2023.

Prior to the album’s release, SM Entertainment confirmed that aespa had reached a total of 1.8 million stock pre-orders for “MY WORLD”, and had surpassed their previous personal best record of 1.61 million stock pre-orders for “Girls”.

South Korean real-time music chart Hanteo Chart also confirmed that “MY WORLD” has broken the record for the highest 1st day of sales by a female group in their history, having sold around 1.19 million copies (and counting, as of writing).

“Spicy” is described as a “dance song with an intense synth-bass sound dynamic beat rhythm.” The song’s lyrics and vibe highlight aespa’s versatility and unique charms as the group “temporarily” departs from the metaverse and entered the “real world” for this comeback.

MYs definitely caught the spice aespa was talking about in their “Spicy” track, and were happy to have been “blessed” with new music from one of the best 4th generation K-Pop girl groups.

Congratulations on your successful comeback, aespa! You girls are truly one group to look out for, no matter what the haters keep saying. Keep slaying, girlies!
