Noodle the Pug, TikTok’s ‘Bones or No Bones’ forecaster, dies at 14

Today is a sad and heartbreaking “No Bones” day as our beloved mood forecaster Noodle the pug crossed the rainbow bridge.

Noodle, the adorable pug who is known for predicting the day’s vibe on TikTok, passed away at age 14 on December 2, as announced by his owner Jonathan Graziano.

“He was at home. He was in my arms and—this is incredibly sad, it’s incredibly difficult. It’s a day that I always knew was coming, but never thought would arrive,” Graziano, who adopted Noodle when he was 7, said in a video he posted on TikTok.

He added that while the news of Noodle’s sudden passing was difficult and sad to talk about, he encouraged his and Noodle’s followers to still celebrate the beloved canine “while we’re navigating this sadness.”

“He lived 14 and ½ years, which is about as long as you can hope a dog can, and he made millions of people happy,” Graziano continued. “What a run. Thank you for loving him. Thank you for embracing us, and give your dog a cheese ball tonight, but it has to be the fake stuff.”

It has been the privilege of my life to care for Noodle these past 7 years. The sweetest man there has ever been and will ever be. ❤️

Shortly after Graziano broke the news, the internet mourned Noodle’s death and paid heartfelt tributes to the social media star who brought so much joy for the past year.

Noodle and Graciano first rose to TikTok fame at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic with their daily game of forecasting the vibe check of the day. In each video, Graziano would attempt to lift Noodle to stand up. If the dog remained standing, Graziano would declare it a “Bones Day,” which meant the day ought to be a productive one.

On the other hand, if Noodle would plop back over his bed, it would be considered a “No Bones Day,” which meant viewers should relax and have a self-care day.

Since becoming a viral sensation and capturing the hearts of over 4 million TikTok followers, Noodle has also been featured in a children’s book titled, “Noodle and the No Bones Day.” According to Graziano, the picture book aims to show kids that it’s okay to rest and take a day off, and “not to feel 100 percent all of the time.” The book was published in June 2022 and became an instant 1 New York Times bestseller.

Our day wouldn’t be the same without you predicting our mood, Noodle. Rest easy and run free there in doggy heaven. We’ll miss you and your daily dose of mood forecast.

Sending love and hugs (with consent) to Jonathan, too.
