OMG! Our pambansang “mima,” Sassa Gurl, joins the lineup of judges for the upcoming ‘Drag Den PH’ season 1.

On November 17, the official trailer of the second Drag Show in the Philippines was released. It revealed the panel of judges along with 8 contestants who will compete for the crown.

Sassa Gurl, who was cheekily introduced as the “drag runner,” will also be joined by the “drag dealer” Nicole Cordoves, the crowned Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2016.

The TikTok sensation, who appeared in the trailer wearing a long gown and wig, made a funny remark about her appearance, even comparing it to 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray.

Fans were surprised, but definitely loved the idea of Sassa being part of the show, more so because she’s part of the panel of judges.

Sassa Gurl is a Filipino internet superstar who rose to stardom through her unique brand of comedy skits on social media, as well as her active involvement in discussions about social issues. In 2021, POP! had the opportunity to learn more about Sassa in an episode of POP! Bio, where the funny content creator/influencer talked about her roots and career inspirations.

In the interview, Sassa Gurl had quipped that she plans to create a media empire. Perhaps we’re now seeing the beginning of this empire-building.

Drag Den PH, hosted by the Filipina Drag Queen Manila Luzon, will premiere on December 8.
