(G)I-DLE and PH Neverlands’ chemistry a 10/10 during the Manila leg of [JUST ME ( )I-DLE]

After their supposed (G)I-DLE World Tour ‘I-Land : Who Am I’ concert tour back in 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, South Korean girl group, (G)I-DLE finally held their first world tour and first ever concert in the Philippines titled [JUST ME ( )I-DLE] last September 11, 2022 at the New Frontier Theater.

After 2 years of being in lockdown and being unable to hold concerts here in the country, PULP finally made it happen for PH Neverlands ((G)I-DLE’s official fandom name) as they brought (G)I-DLE in the Philippines.

Before the concert started, fans were hyping themselves up while waiting for their favorite girl group by singing along and cheering their fan chants out loud while waving their lightsticks to some of the group’s hit songs, ‘TOMBOY’, ‘LATATA’, and ‘MY BAG’.

When the lights started to dim, New Frontier Theater was filled with loud screams from PH Neverlands and a wave of violet tone color coming from their Neverbong ((G)I-DLE’s official lightstick) lighting up.

Soyeon, Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, and Shuhua officially started their concert with their song ‘Oh my God’, followed by ‘VILLAIN DIES’, and ‘LATATA’. The fans were not able hide their excitement and happiness and sang along with (G)I-DLE all throughout the songs.

Right after their opening act, Yuqi praised how PH Neverlands screamed their lungs out and said, “Wow, your scream oh my god…”. When the members started to introduce themselves, fans gave Yuqi an advanced happy birthday greeting and sang a happy birthday song to her. Yuqi will be celebrating her birthday this September 23 wherein she will turn 23 years old (international age).

During the concert, the members hinted to their fans that they will be working on their next album and said that they will write songs again. After this, (G)I-DLE started the second part of their concert with songs ‘Dumdi Dumdi’, ‘Luv U’, ‘HANN (Alone), and ‘HANN (Alone in winter)’.

(G)I-DLE further hyped up the PH Neverlands and lit up the whole venue by singing their hit songs ‘MOON’, ‘ALREADY’,’HWAA’, “LION”,’LIAR’, ‘Never Stop Me’, and ‘Uh-Oh’, ‘MY BAG’, and ‘POP/STARS’.

When the concert finally came to its end, Yuqi promised that they would come back and jokingly said, “You know me, CEO of Cube Entertainment”. (G)I-DLE wrapped up their concert with their hit song “TOMBOY”, where PH Neverlands sang every part of the song and had a blast!

But of course you cannot end a K-pop concert without an ENCORE. PH Neverlands continued chanting “Encore! Encore! Encore!”, and with that, (G)I-DLE appeared on stage once again and performed their last two songs, ‘i’M THE TREND’ and ‘POLAROID’, a song dedicated to their fans. It became more emotional for the fans when the venue was filled with white confetti showered to them throughout the song.

After the encore, the fans chanted “Walang uuwi! Walang uuwi!” saying that they will not leave the venue but it was really time to say goodbye. (G)I-DLE bowed to their fans as a thank you for their warm welcome and support, and for coming to their concert.
