8 more trailblazing P-Pop groups to start stanning immediately

Our very own P-Pop groups are starting to dominate the music charts, becoming more and more known locally and even internationally.

Groups with an already solid fan base such as SB19, BGYO, Alamat, and BINI have already proven that P-Pop also has what it takes to produce music and performances at par with globally-leading ones (read: K-pop). But there are more P-Pop groups equally worthy of your stanning, so you might want to start following them:

R Rules

Newly debuted girl group R Rules (initially named Japh Dolls) sets to conquer the rest of 2022 after their comeback single Girl Gang on July 1 was released, months following their debut single DNY.

Members Ruri, Risa, Riyo, and Rei were the first girl group members to debut under MCA, the Filipino record label of Universal Music Group.

The 4-member girl group actively spoke of what they want for their music – that is to make their fans, most especially women, feel empowered. The MV for ‘Girl Gang’, their latest comeback, will surely have you scream: “Our world, our rules!” while enjoying its Trip-Hop/R&B groove. As a group with members that have a Japanese background, their songs also have a mix of Japanese lyrics which makes them all the more unique!

Press Hit Play (PHP

The 5-member boy group Press Hit Play, consisting of members Chris, Yuuki, JP, Zi.O, and Sev, have also had their fair share of released music this year! Though technically a fresh group that just had their debut last August 6, 2021, Press Hit Play is here to deliver more bops for their fans.

With two members JP and Yuuki having undergone training at South Korean entertainment company RBW Entertainment (Yes, the company that manages K-Pop groups such as MAMAMOO, ONEUS, and Purple Kiss), anticipate the group’s performance to leave an impact every time they set foot on stage.

This year, PHP released their comeback single Tell Me. While the group describes the song as youthful and modern, it will definitely renew new listeners’ appreciation for the sound of 80s.

LITZ (Life in the Sunshine)

Debuted under Viva Records,  the 4-member girl group LITZ is composed of members Ashtine, Bianca, Fatima, and Heart, and they are here to shake the P-Pop industry.

On March 8, 2022, LITZ had their official debut with their single ‘Kidlat.’ Prior to their debut, the girl group had released a pre-debut single titled ‘Natataranta,’ which showcased the members’ vibrant vocal range.

This year, LITZ continues to prove their unparalleled talent with ‘Kidlat’ which is a track that has melodramatic lyrics paired with an explosive sound and performance.
