Aespa announces comeback date, surprises fans with a pre-release track

Aespa’s back to slay, GIRLS.

On June 1, 2022 at 12 M.N. KST, SM Entertainment and aespa announced that the 4-member girl group will be making their comeback on July 8, 2022 with their 2nd mini album titled, “Girls”. This comes 10 months after the release of the 1st extended play, “Savage” and 8 months after their remake of S.E.S.’s “Dreams Come True”. On the same day, SM Entertainment also announced that aespa has signed a global partnership with Warner Records for the girl group’s promotions overseas.

“Girls” will contain nine tracks, including the lead single of the same name, their first two singles “Black Mamba” and “Forever”, and “Dreams Come True”. Prior to the release of their second mini album, aespa will be dropping two pre-release tracks, “Illusion” and “Life’s Too Short”, the latter being the unreleased single they performed at Coachella and will be released on June 24th.

Speaking of pre-release tracks, the girl group surprised fans by dropping “Illusion” on the afternoon of June 1, 2022, along with a lyric video for the track. At the same time, Apple Music announced that aespa will be their “Up Next” artist for the month of June.

With all of these happening in just one day, MYs are definitely feeling a little bit overwhelmed, but at the same time happy that the æ-girls are getting the treatment they deserve.

Are you ready for their return, MYs? No? Well, same here.
