Lorde was forced to postpone some of her “Solar Power” tour dates due to her illness.
The singer-songwriter is currently on the road for her 2022 world tour which features songs from her latest album, “Solar Power”. But unknowingly, the singer had been suffering from extreme laryngitis, causing her to cancel and reschedule some of her tour dates.
Lorde was scheduled to perform at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut last April 15 but due to her illness, the singer wasn’t able to appear and was forced to cancel the show. Even her following show the next day that was about to take place in Anthem Washington, DC got cancelled.
In a statement addressed to fans, Lorde shared that she has been experiencing horrendous laryngitis, and regrets that she is not able to do the show for them, “These past couple days I’ve been pushing through some horrendous laryngitis, and I regret to inform you that my voice hasn’t sufficiently recovered to be able to play the show for you,” the singer wrote.
Lorde also offered an apology to fans for postponing the shows and tells that she has tried everything to be able to appear on stage, “I’m so, so sorry. I don’t take postponing a show lightly. I’ve tried everything, and unfortunately it’s physically impossible for me to sing much of the set.” The singer further stated, that once she’s able to, she will make sure to party with fans again, “Please accept my sincere apologies. All well besides that, and absolutely frothing to party with you when I am able. Rescheduling info to come.”
The two postponed dates have now been moved to August, the Connecticut show is set to take place on August 25, and the Washington show is scheduled on August 29.
