Cats and rats caught feasting on freshly slaughtered pigs at a marketplace in Manila

Warning: Get a chuck bucket ready because this will make you want to throw up. Seriously.

It seems like Tom and Jerry aren’t fighting anymore. A cat and a rat were seen eating slaughtered pigs at a market meat shop near Zapanta St., Singalong, Manila.

Facebook user John Rapvinsky posted on Sunday an incredibly revolting discovery he made when he went to the market at around 3 in the morning.

His post showed a rat and a cat feasting on what appeared to be freshly slaughtered pigs that was just delivered to the meat shop. According to Rapvinsky, the pigs will be sold to meat buyers that morning.

People who saw the post were appalled and disgusted by the unsanitary state of the pork.

Some immediately raised concerns on health issues:

Others living near the said marketplace were also alarmed that they might be buying meat from that certain meat shop.

One commenter couldn’t help noticing the irony:

“Baboy na nga binaboy pa.”

While this surely doesn’t happen in every market butcher shop, meat sellers have a responsibility to provide fresh, clean, and quality meat. The customer’s health is something that should never be compromised.
