Everyone will probably agree that Monday is a very stressful day. It’s more difficult to get out of bed, the traffic is worse than usual and before you even start, you feel like you’re already behind on your work. How you wish you can move faster on Mondays.
If you want to know how being super fast can change a person’s life, catch the newest US series on free television as TV5 launches The Flash.
The Flash is a superhero with the power of super speed. Barry Allen, the show’s protagonist, uses his unique ability to move at the speed of sound to fight criminals and help the police solve crimes. On top of that, Barry has a self-declared mission of finding out who killed his mother when he was still a young boy.
Just how did Barry Allen get this super-speed power which made him “The Fastest Man Alive”?
It all began one stormy night when a particle accelerator, invented by Star Laboratories to help power the city, malfunctioned. This caused an explosion that left the city and its residents covered with an unknown form of radiation. Barry, who was working that night, got struck by lightning. The combination of the lightning, chemicals from his lab and radiation from the particle accelerator left Barry in a coma for nine months.
When Barry Allen woke up, he discovers his new out-of-this-world ability. He was scared and unsure of what to do at first. But just like other superheroes, he decided to use his power to make this world a better place.
Interestingly, when Barry moves at super speed, he sees a yellow blur that he had previously seen when he witnessed the death of his mother. This and his mother’s words, “It’s better to have a good heart than fast legs.” has kept Barry wondering if there is a connection between the past and his newfound power.
As Barry struggles with this question while managing his new role as superhero, he is glad to have his friends, Harrison Wells, Cisco Ramone and Kathlyn Snow, to help him out.
