SM artists come together as ‘SMTOWN’ for SM Ent’s 9th winter album after 10 years

우린 SMTOWN, let’s party! (We’re SMTOWN, let’s party!)

A decade after their eighth seasonal album, SM Entertainment released its 9th winter album titled ‘2021 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU EXPRESS’ on December 27, 2021. SMTOWN refers to the musical collective of all of SM Entertainment’s recording artists—Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, NCT, aespa, and DJs Ginjo, Raiden, and Imlay.

SM Entertainment’s 9th winter album includes 10 tracks, with 2 lead singles, “Hope from KWANGYA” and “Dreams Come True”. It is also available in 13 versions—one for each artist with the exception of EXO KAI and NCT (who have 2 versions: Day-Time and Night-Time Pass). The album also includes a combination of artists for different tracks, aside from the songs of their groups.

One of the lead singles, “Dreams Come True” by aespa, had already been released a week earlier on December 20, 2021 through SM Station. “Hope from KWANGYA”, the other lead single, is a remake of SMTown’s “representative” song that was originally released in 1998.

The other tracks include songs by Girls’ Generation-Oh!GG, TVXQ, Super Junior, and combinations from Red Velvet, NCT, and aespa.

Fans of the artists from SM Entertainment all gathered to show their delight and support for the album on social media, especially showing love for some songs in the album.

Yup, this album really does fit the “end of the year” vibes. Also, don’t forget to catch SM Entertainment’s free online concert on January 1, 2022 at 1 P.M. KST!
