BTS’s ‘Dynamite’, an upbeat party song that broke records all over – but its fame and critical acclaim wasn’t enough for the Grammys.
Dynamite is critically acclaimed with three Guinness World Records, and 32 awards from different music awards across the globe. Unfortunately, at the 63rd Grammy Awards, BTS lost the award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance to Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga’s Rain on Me.
Many members of the BTS fandom, dubbed the Army, went online to voice their opinions. Most of them would go on to call the Grammy Awards the “Scammy Awards,” and would recall past instances where the deserving nominees would rant about their loss and the seemingly unfair selection process.
just a reminder: that corrupt award show is run by old white men #scammy pic.twitter.com/9ZFESqJjg4

Fans would also recall the time that rap legend Eminem expressed his frustration and issue with the Grammy Awards – listing artists who were “robbed” over the years.
There is also talk of the Grammys using BTS as a way to boost views during the award show. There was a massive drop in viewers from 1.2 million to 400 thousand when they lost in their category.

Regardless of where you stand on the matter, it’s best to hope for a fair and equal award show that is free from any biases. As people have been losing faith in the Grammys for a while, they need to make strides for a less biased industry if they want to regain respect from the public.
