New Music Alert: We’ll finally be as one amongst the Cobwebs

Following his first release, 20-year-old independent singer-songwriter, Karl Art, put out his second single that continues the story of the dark and sadistic protagonist in his first single, “Bended Knees.”

His new song “Cobwebs” is reminiscent of 80s music, but simultaneously feels very modern.  It does not follow the conventional song structure of Pop music with the Chorus only appearing near the end of the track, and having an intro that is almost one minute long. Nevertheless, the song still manages to capture attention, and take the listener on a journey of love, obsession, regret, and disenchantment.

When asked what listeners should expect in his new song, he replied “I added a motif from the previous song, and incorporated it in the intro of “Cobwebs” to make that connection. I also wanted this song to stand alone, and make it something that people can dance to.”

In this new song, Art said that he also collaborated with his Music Production block-mate, Patti Langas, to emphasize the narrative with a woman’s voice.

“I think the song is one big build-up to the Chorus as both the protagonist and his lover have their own resolution or epiphany. Patti did an amazing job expressing the sorrow and anguish of the woman, and you can feel it in her voice.” Karl added.

“If you remove the synthesizers, the industrial elements and the upbeat music, I believe this song is about ghosts, and how the things we have done in the past can come back to haunt us. You can interpret that literally or figuratively, but I want people to find their own meaning of the song.”
