It seems there’s a heated (playful) debate on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) as users exchange opinions on which country has the best flag.
i'm sorry but america has the best flag. all the others are just worse pic.twitter.com/NREhWJ2d2j

With the original post claiming that the American flag has the best flag, and “all the others are just worse,” many did not accept this claim and boast their own flags and its meaning with Philippines being one of those.
not gonna say which is best but the philippine flag can literally be flipped red side up in times of war, and it still looks tall and dignified. its public display was banned by america for 12 years (1907-1919). if your flag looks this good, you'd understand https://t.co/jdmBMdU8Hu pic.twitter.com/0eWhkB8IwH

Historian Kristoffer Pasion explained the two meanings of the Philippine flag on its right side up and flipped. “Not gonna say which is best but the Philippine flag can literally be flipped red side up in times of war, and it still looks tall and dignified. Its public display was banned by America for 12 years (1907-1919).”
While other Filipino social media users reacted or added their own information in regards to the meaning of the Philippine flag.
Also the symbolism of the 3 stars being luzon, visayas, and mindanao, and the rays of the sun being the first 8 provinces that revolted against spanish colonization goes so hard

It's something you don't really appreciate when studying Philippine History as a middle-school or high-school student unless your teacher points it out.
Immediately when you flip the flag, red becomes the dominant color. It's such a novel way to show that we are ready to fight

Other social media users shared their own country’s flags, playfully one-upping the original poster’s claim that the American flag was superior.
With the Welsh flag having its own dragon in it, who could go against it?
