Ahead of his highly anticipated performance for his ‘MAX Live in Manila’ show, New York-based artist Max shared some of his significant milestones, experiences, and plans with the press at U.P. Town Center in Quezon City on April 5.
Singer-songwriter Max Schneider a.k.a. MAX returned to Manila to promote his fourth studio album, ‘Love in Stereo’ and expressed excitement about performing in the Philippines, highlighting the warmth of Filipino fans, and how he’s been enjoying his “passionate, delicious, and very hot” stay in the country so far.
Max revealed to the press the source of inspiration for his most recent album, “In ‘Love in Stereo’ I realized between the birth of my first daughter and I just had my eighth wedding anniversary this week, and just feeling love from the beginning and love how it revolves, and staying loyal and true to someone, and all of those mixtures of love, I think that’s what this album really is about.”
Among the twelve tracks on his latest record is the wildly popular song ‘Stupid in Love’, which features Yunjin from LE SSERAFIM, with whom he expressed his admiration. “She’s so amazing. She’s such a wonderful person. She’s so sweet. She’s so talented and a great songwriter. We really did just get along so well. Felt like little sister-big brother energy. I’m so honored that she joined the song. I always wanted a female voice, and the universe just sent Huh Yunjin my way,” he said.
As the singer continues to explore working with various artists all over the globe, Max looks forward to collaborating with several Filipino artists like Lola Amour and SB19, to name a few, and is willing to work with any artists that come his way.
Further, he expressed how much he adored ZEROBASEONE when asked about other K-pop artists he currently was fond of. “I’d say ZEROBASEONE is a group that I really love. They’re awesome right now,” Max said. “I love the new song, ILLIT’s ‘Magnetic’,” he added.
The ‘Strings’ singer also recalled the time when BTS’s Jungkook covered his song ‘One More Weekend,’ which was eventually the moment he was first exposed to the K-pop genre.
Reflecting on another BTS encounter, Max teamed with Suga on their hit collaboration single ‘Blueberry Eyes,’ which he labeled “life-changing.”
Max acknowledged that while he continues to smash professional benchmarks, nothing compares to the ultimate success of being a father—the moment he held his daughter for the first time.
The artist had his three-night show at malls (U.P Town Center, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, and One Ayala) from April 5 to April 7, where he made sure to share a memorable night with his fans. “There’s nothing I love more than performing live. I love to hear the fans sing along with me and connect through it. It gives me light and energy.”
