BTS’ RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook bid farewell to fans before starting military service

The remaining BTS members RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook said their goodbyes and thank yous to fans, as they prepared to enter their enlistment periods and join Jin, J-Hope, and Suga.

RM and V have been sharing their thoughts and appreciation for their fans the last couple of days on their respective social media accounts as their enlistment dates draw nearer. RM himself felt it was needed that he gave his most sincere words to their fans, so he penned a heartfelt letter to ARMYs.

He said that, though he is scared, he is comforted by the love that the ARMY has given him and his group. “The fact that I’m a person whom someone may be constantly remembering and whom someone is waiting for—even though there may be times when I feel lonely and melancholy, I think I already feel replete inside with that love. I hope that I, too, can be that kind of presence for you.” he said in a translated Weverse post last December 10, 2023.

He bid his goodbye as the final notes of his letter stated, “Whenever and wherever we are, here’s hoping that we will be us! Let’s meet in the future. I love you a lot. I hope that [these feelings] will reach you even a little bit,” before signing off.

As for V, his farewell brought a little more levity to their upcoming enlistment initially, sharing his new cut on Instagram with the caption, “V D-1.” On the day of his enlistment, December 11, 2023, he posted a series of photos with a heartfelt message akin to RM’s previous post.

“I think I will miss you all so much. Honestly, I’m sad that I can’t make happy memories with ARMY for the time being, but besides that one thing, it would be fine. The hardest thing is not being able to see ARMY. After a long period of 18 months, I will return in really good health, so ARMY, take good care of your health, and if you spend each day looking for happiness, I will appear saying, “Ta-da! I’m here!” Also, I prepared various stuff for those 18 months, so please look forward to it. As we always have, let’s make precious memories after I return. I will really miss you, and I really love you, so please wait for me until then. I will return soon! Bye!,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Jimin and Jungkook had their last Weverse live for the meantime last December 11 to officially say goodbye to ARMYs.

Fans were not particularly thrilled about the Bangtan members leaving for quite some time, but were still happy that the boys would reunite in the army and soon after their respective enlistments. They wished them a safe and healthy service.

Earlier in November, BIGHIT MUSIC released an official statement announcing that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are preparing for military enlistment, along with their expected enlistment dates.

Serve well and come back safe, Tannies!
