People like this guy are part of the reason why we have problems with ticket selling and buying.
TWICE’s “Ready To Be” concert had begun its pre-selling yesterday, June 15, 2023, and it wasn’t pretty at all.
A lot of things affected the flow of events during the presale period for the said concert. One, over 100,000 ONCEs were in the queue for the presale ticket selling. Two, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit Mindoro province and was strongly felt in the capital and shaking up the surrounding cities. Three, there were some notable (yet usual) problems on the website like adding to cart and the payment gateway. Four, there were some ONCEs that reported that their payment had been processed, but they didn’t receive any voucher. Five, it was found out that some VIP tickets had already been reserved for…well, clout chasers.
And the sixth, which seems to warrant the most hatred from ONCEs everywhere, is a person that was proudly flaunting his ticket-selling business after the earthquake. This person on Facebook got the ire of Filipino ONCEs after he posted that he was selling 16 VIP tickets for an outrageous amount of PHP40,000 each ticket.
He also has a Facebook page, where he had posted other tickets for events for reselling in the past, among other things. There is even a screenshot circulating of a purported interaction between a ONCE, who called him out on his predatory “hustle,” and the seller’s reply that it’s just “diskarte,” further telling the fan to “just cry in the queue.”
ONCEs were especially furious after finding this out and had released all their anger, sentiments, and zingers through posts and memes on Twitter, in true Twitter fashion:

This is a call-out for all the scalpers out there, to be honest. Stop trying to ruin fans’ concert experience by taking advantage of ticket selling. Yes, we know that times are hard and money is everything. But please, stop exploiting fans who save a chunk of their salaries or allowances just to afford these concerts.
Scalpers and scammers do not deserve the money they earn from fans. They should even be held accountable for technically swindling people. It’s people exactly like this guy that stop fans from seeing the artists they love.
Perhaps this is also an opportune time to call on all ticket-selling platforms to fix your ticketing systems. Filipino consumers deserve better buying experience.
