“Writing does not stop when filming begins.”
On May 7, co-creators and co-showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer, known as the Duffer Brothers, shared on a Twitter post that the production of the famous Netflix series, ‘Stranger Things’, because of the ongoing writers’ strike.
The post read, “Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then — over and out. #wgastrong”

It is now among other Netflix series, alongside ‘Big Mouth’ and ‘Cobra Kai’ that will face release delays and production pauses because of the strike.
On May 2, the Writers’ Guild of America (WGA) went on strike after a failed negotiation for higher compensation.
According to a statement by WGA, after negotiating for six weeks with Netflix, Amazon, Apple, Disney, Discover-Warner, NBC Universal, Paramount, and Sony under the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), “the studios’ responses to our proposals have been wholly insufficient, given the existential crisis writers are facing.”
WGA’s demand includes an increase and standardization of compensation and residual terms, an increase of contributions to the Pension Plan and Health Fund, and regulation of the use of AI-produced materials, among other things.
Talk shows like NBC’s Saturday Night Live, Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, CBS’ Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, and HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher and Last Week Tonight With John Oliver are among the shows that have been shut down because of the strike.
