Just recently, we released a story about a foreigner named Kris Carroll who bought a new pair of shoes for a barefoot kid he saw outside a mall in Mandaluyong.
Ahyan Yerro, an assistant supervisor at the shoe store where Kris and the boy went, shared Kris’s heartfelt story of kindness on Facebook and it instantly went viral online.
After InqPOP! reached out to Raymond Seneca, the guy who assisted Kris and the boy at the shoe store, we learned that Kris Carroll got in contact with Ahyan after seeing her post on Facebook.
We spoke to Ahyan and she shared with us what Kris had to say about the now viral post.
According to Kris, someone showed her Ahyan’s post and he was grateful for all the kind words he received. He also said that the boy named Warren, is 14 years old, lives in Pasig, and has a sister. Kris also shared that after buying Warren’s shoes, they went to a fast-food chain to eat and then proceeded to shop for his clothes.
“He looked amazing when he walked out and had a smile from ear to ear,” Kris said.
Although Kris refused to talk about what he did through an interview due to his tight schedule and limited time here in the country, he said through Ahyan that he encourages others to do the same. “This is how we can make the world better,” he said.
And because of what he did for Warren, Kris truly serves as inspiration for us not to choose who we should help and when or where to show kindness.
Thank you, Kris Carroll!
