Combining his love for sneakers, toys, and art seamlessly, which is very evident from his vlogs and Secret Fresh Gallery, the name ‘DJ Bigboy Cheng’ will surely ring a bell to the sneakerhead community in the country. Just recently, the popularly known Godfather of Sneaks posted on social media a sneak peek of his next collaboration with World Balance. His teaser piqued interest from shoe enthusiasts, making his Instagram and Facebook posts flooded with positive reactions. It obtained the same reception and excitement as with his last year’s collaboration with the brand through the I-Sperm, a low-top lifestyle shoe using velcro straps with canvas and suede as materials.
The shoe, just like the first one, was designed by Cheng himself and has taken inspiration from his favorite skate sneakers. Based on the glimpse he provided, a playful colorway combination of yellow and green, accentuated with its iconic sperm logo in varsity red can be seen from the ‘I-Sperm Climax 1976’, a term Cheng used to name this soon-to-release collaboration.
From the looks of the initial leak, the upcoming collaboration does not veer away from its predecessor, except that this time, the colors are much louder and now comes in a mid-cut silhouette with gum outsole. Together with the canvas upper, the gumsole makes the shoe look rugged and ready for your everyday hustle.
Another notable aspect of the shoe is the ‘1976’ written on the collar, which might be a significant milestone relevant to World Balance’s 40th year in the industry or might be about their second collaboration. According to our sneaker insider, there is another variant for the I-Climax that the crowd has yet to see. This further excites shoe collectors as this could be a worthy investment and collection because both shoes will be very limited to the public.
While sneakerheads are waiting for the new rendition of what was dubbed as the I-Climax, the shoe will not yet be available in the market until October 2020. However, for those who missed out on last year’s epic World Balance x Secret Fresh collaboration, the leading shoe brand in the country just restocked the I-Sperm on their website.
