Sam Fischer announces, ‘This City Remix’ featuring Anne-Marie

Sam Fischer has excitingly announced a brand-new version of his global smash hit with This City Remix featuring acclaimed award-winning artist Anne-Marie, which is the first in a series of This City duets.

Beginning as a TikTok sensation and quickly cementing itself in hearts and heads around the world, the emotive and heartfelt This City now stands at over 160 million worldwide streams, 500K worldwide sales and over 5 million video views. It has been certified Silver in the UK with a Top 20 chart position, which steadily climbed over 15 weeks, receiving radio support from Radio 1, Radio 2 (B List), Capital, Virgin and Bauer alongside TV performances on Jimmy Kimmel and James Corden.

An already loved and celebrated track, it is outshining itself with a new series of duets, launching first with vocals from Anne-Marie, one of the most-loved and successful pop artists of recent times. Following a string of global hit singles, Anne-Marie’s UK Top 3 debut album ‘Speak Your Mind’ was released in 2018, featuring chart gems ‘Alarm’, ‘Rockabye’ and ‘2002’, and saw her become that year’s biggest-selling debut artist in the UK. She followed this with collaborations with James Arthur on ‘Rewrite the Stars’ and Lauv on ‘f*ck, I’m lonely’ and her recent comeback single ‘Birthday’, which has already been streamed over 100 million times.

Speaking of the collaboration, they say;

“I’ve been a massive fan of Anne-Marie since back when she was singing with Rudimental, her voice is butter and her pen is fire so to have her jump on This City to write and sing her verse from her own perspective and experience is a dream. The song has meant so many different things to so many different people, to hear Anne-Marie’s take on it is unbelievable.” Sam Fischer

“From the moment I heard ‘This City’ I fell in love with it. I’m so happy I got to write my own little bit on it. Feels so reminiscent yet in the moment at the same time! The struggles we are dealing with, whether it be about living in a new place or dealing with an ex, all feel mixed together as one emotion at the moment.” Anne-Marie

Australian born Sam Fischer first introduced himself with his Not A Hobby EP and has garnered incredible attention through his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. Touring North America with his friend Lewis Capaldi, he wowed crowds with his buoyant personality and pure love and talent for song-writing. Now based in LA, he not only has received acclaim for his own work, but he continues to solidify his spot as one of the hottest current writers, having worked with global pop superstars including Ciara, Louis Tomlinson, Jessie J and many more.

However, it hasn’t all been plain sailing for Sam, who endured his own heartache to achieve his dreams. With the promise of a recording contract in the bag, he left his parents and new wife behind in Australia and set off to LA only for the deal to be pulled away. After months of couch-surfing and struggling to keep his marriage alive across two continents, he finally and deservedly received his break and This City is just the amazing start of an exciting new chapter in Sam’s career.
