In most circumstances, snakes get a “bad reputation” because they are generally considered as venomous species. Despite their negative image, they still play an important role in the ecosystem in terms of controlling rodent populations.
Speaking of which, the most dangerous land snakes can be found in Australia. There are 170 species that contain poison more lethal than other snakes in the world. One of the most common snakes in the Australian continent is the “fast-moving and aggressive” Eastern Brown Snakes. They are also known for having a bad temper, which make them responsible for most snakebite-related deaths in the country.
Recently, a man named Michael Hilliard, from Queensland, Australia, had encountered a brown snake while he was doing the dishes. In an interview with the 9News, Hilliard was surprised to see a snake slithering out of the sink drain—but luckily, he didn’t get bitten.
“It was a bit of a shock because they’re pretty lethal. Thank God it didn’t get me. You’d think they’d be nice and quiet there.”
Upon realizing he had a tiny poisonous snake in his house, he immediately called the snake catchers.
In a video uploaded by the Brisbane North Snake Catchers, the reptile can be seen crawling out of Hilliard’s sink. However, the snake catchers failed to capture the elusive creature because it had already crawled back into the drain even before they arrived.
